Friends

Released in 2001, this movie was a huge hit for Vijay and Suriya. Directed by Siddique. This movie was a direct remake of Malayalam version of Friends which was released in 1999 with the cast of Jayaram, Mukesh and Sreenivasan.

Nanban

Remake of 3 Idiots which was released in 2009. Starred by Aamir Khan, Madhavan, Sharman Joshi and Kareena Kapoor. Tamil version was directed by Shankar in 2012 with the cast of Vijay, Ieana, Sathyaraj, Jeeva, Srikanth. Story about life journey of 3 friends.

Priyamana Thozhi

Starring Madhavan, Jyothika, Sridevi Vijayakumar and Vineeth. This movie was directed by Vikraman in 2003. Story about Madhavan and Sridevi are childhood friends. Sridevi is set to marry Vineeth, a cricketer who is hoping to get selected in the Indian team, but her wedding plans are threatened when Madhavan is selected instead. The issues they face after that is the movie is all about.

Natpe Thunai

Starring Hip-Hop Adhi, Anagha, Kausalya, Karu Pazhaniappan. Story about lead role – a former hockey player, helps a local team save their ground by training them to win a match against the Pondicherry team. However, a corrupt politician – played by Karu Pazhaniappan has his eyes set on the ground. Movie was released in 2019.

Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga

Starring Arya, Santhanam as best friends since childhood. However, their friendship is put to a test when they fall in love with Seema and Aishwarya, respectively. Directed by M Rajesh and movie was released in 2015.

Annamalai

Story about childhood friends who are a milkman and a son of a rich business. Soon they became enemies and their life since then. Directed by Suresh Krissna in 1992. Starring Rajinikanth, Sarath Babu, Kushboo, Manorama and Radha Ravi.

Kuselan

After a big blockbuster of Chandramukhi by P. Vasu and Rajinikanth’s combo, they joined together for Kuselan, however this was a major flop for both of them. Released in 2008, this was one of the big flop in Rajinikanth’s career. 

Chennai 600028

This blockbuster cricket movie was a huge hit when it was released in 2007. The story about the Sharks team never wins the local cricket tournament. Directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by SPB Charan. Starring a huge boy gang – Shiva, Jai , Premji, Aravind Akash, Nithin Sathya, Vijay Vasanth, Ajay Raj, Prassanna Shanmugham, Ranjith, Arun along with Sampath and Ilavarasu.

Uriyadi

Another underrated movie in this category. This is a movie with a strong message about the caste system. Directed, produced and acted by Vijay Kumar. This movie gained good feedback from reviewers. Starring Vijay Kumar, Mime Gopi, Sivakumar, Henna Bella and more.
