Nayakan

Thalapathi

Roja

Roja, a village girl from Tamil Nadu, was married to Rishi, who was kidnapped by terrorists during an undercover mission in Jammu and Kashmir. Then Roja fights all the way to get back her husband. Brilliant performance by Arvind Swamy, Madhoo, Nassar, Janagaraj and directed by Mani Ratnam.

Iruvar

This movie’s story is about MGR and Karunanidhi, even though it was directly mentioned in this movie. Story about how an actor became a Hero and people’s star and turned into a politician against his best friend. Released in 1997, this movie was starring Mohanlal as MGR, Prakash Raj as Karunanidhi, along with Tabu, Aiswarya Rai, Gautami. Directed by Mani Ratnam.

Alaipayuthey

One of the best romantic films by Mani Ratnam. With brilliant songs by AR Rahman, this movie was acted by Madhavan, Shalini, Vivek, Swarnalatha, Jayasudha and more. Story about two teeters marry against the wishes of their families and start their new life. However they have clashes in between. Movie was released in 2000.

Raavanan

Released in 2010 this movie was directed by Mani Ratnam. Starring Vikram, Prithviraj, Aishwarya Rai, Prabhu, Karthik, Priyamani and more. Story starts after inspector Dev stirs the reign of Veeraiya, a tribal outlaw, the latter responds by kidnapping his wife, Ragini. While she tries to escape from him, Dev fights many resistances to find her.

O Kadhal Kanmani

This movie won many youngsters’ hearts, as this story is more relevant for current generations. Directed by Mani Ratnam in 2015, this movie is about Two youngsters attracted to each other when they meet at a wedding. They both don’t believe in marriage, hence, they decide to start living-in-relationship. Starring Dulquer Salman, Nithya Menen, Leela Samson & Prakash Raj.

Chekka Chivantha Vaanam

This huge cast movie was about a fight between three brothers to take over their father’s criminal empire. Released in 2018 and starring Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swamy, Arun Vijay, Prakash Raj, Aditi Rao and the list goes on. 

Kannathil Muthamittal

Amudha, daughter of Madhavan and Simran, was an adopted kid. At the age of nine, she got to know that she was adopted and she wanted to meet her biological mother. The parents bring her to Sri Lanka in the middle of a war-ridden zone to meet her mom. Directed by Mani Ratnam and released in 2002.
